Overview

David Ortiz, Pedro Martínez, Albert Pujols — and today's Juan Soto, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Manny Machado. The Dominican Republic produces baseball legends like nowhere else. Catch a Dominican Winter League game with the Toros del Este and you'll see the country's true passion up close — what locals simply call *pelota*.

Catch the Country's Favorite Game

Did you know you can watch current, former, and future Major League Baseball players live — right in the middle of your Punta Cana vacation?

Baseball may be winding down back in the States, but in the Dominican Republic it's just heating up. And we'd love to take you out to the ballgame.

If you're in Punta Cana anytime from late October through January, a Dominican Winter League game is one experience you shouldn't skip.

This little Caribbean nation produces some of the greatest ballplayers who've ever lived. Past legends like David Ortiz, José Reyes, Albert Pujols, and Pedro Martínez, and today's stars like Juan Soto, Manny Machado, Fernando Tatís Jr., and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. — to name only a few. In fact, Dominicans are the most-represented nationality in Major League Baseball outside the U.S., and every MLB team runs a training academy here, quietly turning out the next generation of superstars.

We'll collect you from your Punta Cana hotel and head to the neighboring city of La Romana, home of the Toros del Este (the "Bulls") — the team that represents the whole eastern region of the country, Punta Cana included.

Time to root for the home team!

Don't waste your vacation trying to sort out tickets, transport, and directions on your own. We live here, and we know our pelota. Your excursion includes:

  • Round-trip private transfer from your hotel lobby
  • Stadium entrance
  • 2 drinks per person (beer, soda, or water)
  • A personal pizza or local fried chicken, per person

Great seats + great food = a great ballgame.

A night at a Dominican Winter League game is a genuine, unfiltered look at Dominican culture — and a shot at catching tomorrow's MLB stars before the rest of the world does.

We cap the group at 12 guests, and the Toros play a limited number of home games, so spots go fast — reserve early.

“A great day at the ballgame. Jonathan and his staff made everything a total pleasure. My son and I went to San Pedro de Macoris to watch Tigres at Estrellas: a pitchers' duel turned into a tenth-inning thriller. All communication in advance was great, including on Christmas Day. Jonathan could not be more lovely. The van ride from Punta Cana is a little long but fine. Front row seats just feet from the on-deck circle allowed us to chat with some players. Jonathan and his team kept a constant flow of food and drink. We even got onto the field for a few photos. Jonathan knows the game and the players and even translated some of the crowd chants—but not the ones including profanity! The vibe in the stadium is electric and fun. Just a great day of baseball. The whole trip was just super from start to end and I'll be back to do it again. I recommend Jonathan and Punta Cana Tours wholeheartedly.”

“My tour guide, Jonathan Rodriguez at Punta Cana Tours was awesome! My 13-year-old son and I had an amazing one-week vacation to the DR. Jonathan was our guide for two baseball games in San Pedro where the home team, Estrella Orientales played two of their rivals, Leones (Albert Pujols is the head coach) and the Tigres (Juan Soto's old team). Jonathan knows his baseball and the players' backgrounds. He was able to get my son and I on the field after the game for a photo opportunity. I've seen a lot of professional baseball games, and I've never had first row seats directly behind home plate. We were just feet away from the batters when they were in the on-deck circle. We also used Jonathan for our roundtrip transfer to Bayahibe for the boat trip to Saona Island that we arranged through Punta Cana Tours. We did not want to take the larger van / bus transfer to the docks because it leaves so early and stops to pick up other people taking the trip. This gave us an extra hour of sleep and was more private. Very safe driving by Jonathan and other PCT drivers which is want you want to in Punta Cana. Lots of crazy drivers on the road. I highly recommend Punta Cana Tours for your day trips in the DR. Thank you Jonathan!”
