Caribbean Dream

Local operator · Since 2007

We were here before Punta Cana was Punta Cana.

A registered tour company on this coast since 2007 — back when the resorts closed for half the year and the roads were still dirt. Not a global reseller. The local team that actually shows up.

Before the destination

When this wasn't a destination yet

When we started, Punta Cana wasn't a destination. Puerto Plata was where the tourists went. Here it was sugar cane fields, a handful of resorts that opened only for high season, and streets that weren't bad so much as they were dirt — no pavement at all.

We were already here, selling tours online, when PayPal was still part of eBay. We were its biggest user in the country — big enough that they sent reps down to help us do business. There was no one else doing what we were doing.

We helped build this

We didn't arrive after the boom — we helped start it

Before we ever sold a tour in Punta Cana, we helped put the Dominican Republic on the map — literally. We wrote the first published guide to the country and worked alongside the Ministry of Tourism, promoting the DR from the UK when Puerto Plata was the big name and Punta Cana was still cane fields.

  1. Before 2007

We wrote the Dominican Republic's first published travel guide and promoted the country from the UK, working with the Ministry of Tourism.

  2. 2007

Founded as a registered tour company in Punta Cana — dirt roads, sugar cane, and resorts open only in high season.

  3. The early days

The country's largest PayPal user, back when PayPal was still eBay. Their reps flew down to work with us.

  4. Ever since

We watched Cortecito grow from about 50 people to nearly 10,000 — and learned every road on the island, including the ones that were dirt.

  5. Today

Nearly 19 years on, tens of thousands of guests later, we're still here — and planning on twenty more.

We have what we sell

Most booking sites don't own a single tour. We're the someone else.

The big names you know are marketplaces — someone else runs the boat, drives the bus, meets you in the lobby. We're the someone else. We have what we sell.

Book with us and you're booking with the people who actually show up.

Everyone's a "local expert" now

The difference between saying it and living it

The global names — Viator, Expedia, GetYourGuide — resell from another country and call themselves local experts. Some paint "Local Experts" on the side of a big bus. Ask the driver where Cortecito was in 2007.

Other "companies" advertise 50,000 reviews — earned in Mexico, before they ever showed up in Punta Cana two years ago. We're not experts because a bus says so. We've driven every road on this island, back to when they were dirt.

We know this island

Not just Punta Cana — the whole island

We started in Cortecito when about 50 people lived there. Today it's closer to 10,000. We've watched this coast get built corner by corner, and we know it the way only someone who was here can — every road, every shortcut, and the fastest way around the holes that still swallow the newcomers.

Still here

Take care of people and they take care of you

That's been our rule from the start, and we mean it for customers and staff alike. Without you, we're nothing. And after nearly 19 years and tens of thousands of guests, we're still here.

We plan to be here for twenty more.

In short

The questions people ask

How long has Caribbean Dream operated tours in Punta Cana?

Since 2007 — nearly two decades. We were a registered Dominican tour company here before Punta Cana became a major destination, back when many resorts opened only for high season and the roads were still dirt.

Are you a local operator or a reseller?

We're a local operator, on the ground in Punta Cana since 2007. The global booking sites are marketplaces that resell local tours from another country. Book with us and you reach the local team directly — the people who meet you in the hotel lobby.

What makes you different from Viator, Expedia or GetYourGuide?

Those are global platforms that resell local tours and label themselves "local experts." We actually operate here — nearly 19 years on this coast, we know every road on the island, and we have what we sell rather than listing someone else's tour and taking a cut.

Where in the Dominican Republic are you based?

In the Punta Cana / Bávaro area. We started in Cortecito when about 50 people lived there — today it's closer to 10,000 — and we cover the whole island, not just Punta Cana.
