Before the destination
When this wasn't a destination yet
When we started, Punta Cana wasn't a destination. Puerto Plata was where the tourists went. Here it was sugar cane fields, a handful of resorts that opened only for high season, and streets that weren't bad so much as they were dirt — no pavement at all.
We were already here, selling tours online, when PayPal was still part of eBay. We were its biggest user in the country — big enough that they sent reps down to help us do business. There was no one else doing what we were doing.
We helped build this
We didn't arrive after the boom — we helped start it
Before we ever sold a tour in Punta Cana, we helped put the Dominican Republic on the map — literally. We wrote the first published guide to the country and worked alongside the Ministry of Tourism, promoting the DR from the UK when Puerto Plata was the big name and Punta Cana was still cane fields.

Before 2007
We wrote the Dominican Republic's first published travel guide and promoted the country from the UK, working with the Ministry of Tourism.

2007
Founded as a registered tour company in Punta Cana — dirt roads, sugar cane, and resorts open only in high season.

The early days
The country's largest PayPal user, back when PayPal was still eBay. Their reps flew down to work with us.
-
Ever since
We watched Cortecito grow from about 50 people to nearly 10,000 — and learned every road on the island, including the ones that were dirt.

Today
Nearly 19 years on, tens of thousands of guests later, we're still here — and planning on twenty more.
